Crafting your Logo
The best branding begins with your logo.
It defines you. Let your business name both sound and look enticing
to both your retail and wholesale customers.

Crafting marketing materials:
Create coordinating marketing materials to further your brand including
brand recognition tactics, business cards, hang tags, postcards,
web presence, artist statements, peripheral materials.
By the end, you'll have a road map for success in brand recognition within your market.

1:30 - 2:30 - Sales Technique
From signs to sales pitch, selling crafts is unlike selling anything else.
We'll discuss how to increase your sales w/o being a sleazy salesperson!

2:30 - 4:30 - PR & Advertising for Craftspeople
Great tips to help any artist get his/her name out to the press and public.
Includes helpful websites, what goes in a press kit and what to do with it,
how to contact magazines, as well as creative marketing ideas,co-op marketing,
affordable and free PR resources.

Instructors

Pam Corwin: Northwest Artist Pamela Corwin of Paper Scissors Rock creates clocks, magnets and alarm clocks in her studio in Olympia, Washington. Her work is available in over 300 stores nationwide. She has been in business since 1981. Pam recently joined the west coast faculty of Arts Business Institute. Her local classes include an eight-week class on running a viable art business and a workshop on transitioning from retail to wholesale in the crafts world.

Manya Vee: A jewelry designer since 1990, Manya has sold her jewelry at markets, fairs, trade shows, on the internet and through galleries and boutiques across the country. Since 2000, she has owned and operated Manya Vee Selects in Edmonds, WA, which features original fine art and craft by American artisans. Manya has been teaching classes on "Selling Your Craft" for over 6 years through Discover U in Seattle and the ArtsNow program of Edmonds Community College, and also offers individual consultations. It includes everything she wishes she'd known back in 1990 when she began designing and selling her jewelry
